It's time to think Golf!!!!! An invitation to join!!!
Joining the league is a fantastic deal. League annual dues are only $15. For this you get many benefits.
1. Meet fellow golfers in the University community.
2. Play at prime weekend morning times mostly on the prestigious West Course.
3. Season pass holders can play in our league events without paying the usual $20 weekend West course surcharge.
4. Play as many or as few weekends as you want; no season long obligation to play every event or find a substitute.
5. Opportunity to BEAT MICHIGAN at the annual inter-league event!
6. A season long Match Play tournament
7. President’s Outing and banquet.
ELIGIBILITY
If you or your spouse are eligible for an MSU faculty/staff ID card, you are eligible to join the league.
Faculty-Staff League Member Sponsored MSU Alumni. Any Faculty/Staff Golf League member may formally sponsor MSU Alumni, who is not on the MSU Faculty/Staff, to be a member of the league (See Alumni Sponsor Section on the Registration Form.)

TOURNAMENT FEES – $5 per event – pay as you play; winnings distributed weekly as gift certificates for Akers clubhouse merchandise.
TOURNAMENT SIGN-UP – Sign-up by 5 PM Wednesday before the weekend of the tournament either online at golfmsu.msu.edu and click on Faculty Staff League; or on the sign-up sheet at the Akers West Clubhouse.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Event start times: Approximately 7:30 AM to 9 AM on the WEST course; 8:30 AM shotgun starts on days we play on the EAST course.
2. We have two member-guest events planned. These are on the holiday weekends and will be Scramble formats.
3. Annual MSU vs U of M Faculty Staff League Match. This year's event will be at the University of Micghigan Blue Course at 9:00 am . The date will be June 19th.
4 Handicaps. We are no longer able to provide handicap service for league members. We will be determining a tournament handicap for our events based on our tournament scores. This is not an official, sanctioned handicap. League members who want a GAM sanctioned handicap can obtain one for the discounted rate of $20 (see Ray Dolish).
5. NEW MEMBER RECRUITMENT – In order to encourage new members we allow the following: A Faculty-Staff Golf League member may bring, as a guest, a potential member, to any regular tournament event (exceptions are the U of M tournament and the Presidents Outing), one time, before the Faculty-Staff guest would need to pay the $20 league fee to join. The Faculty Staff guest would need to be signed up before the usual Wednesday deadline, pay the greens fee, and $5 tournament fee
6. Match Play Tournament - will be as in previous years except that the first round will not be played as a regular weekend event. You and your opponent will be able to schedule your first round match in the same way as you did second and third round matches in the past. Pat Hart has agreed to be coordinator of this event. He will provide instructions, set up and post the brackets and oversee this tournament. Please fill in the name and contact information on the Club Registration Form and pay the $5 entry fee to MSU Faculty Staff Golf League.
7. Weekly Tournament-Event Coordinator Duties. The weekly tournament-event coordinator collects $5 from each player for the event fee. The coordinator needs to be at the starter station 30 minutes ahead of Shotgun starts and 20 minutes ahead for regular starts. The tournament-event coordinator will be placed in the last foursome. All continuing league members who play an average of 6 or more events a season are expected to serve as a tournament-event coordinator for one event each season. Please complete the coordinator sign-up sheet on the registration form. If you do not complete the form, the board will have the option to assign you to a date. Once you are assigned to a date, it is your responsibility to obtain a replacement should you be unable to make your schedule coordinator date. You will be notified of your assigned date via email; a list of coordinators by date will also be available in the West Pro Shop.
